West high student arrested Saturday evening after making threats via Snapchat

Yesterday Sioux City Police made an arrest of a Juvenile who had made threats against Sioux City West High School insinuating the school would be shot up.

The threat was made outside of school via Snapchat. Police were notified and the student arrested. The investigation revealed the student that sent the message had no actual intention of carrying out the threat, nor had the means to do so.

Sioux City Schools have a zero-tolerance policy for such threats and students are arrested and the case turned over to the Juvenile Court System as was done in this instance.
