ARRESTED: Deshawn Gleaton Norfolk Murder Suspect Arrested in Sioux City

About 5:45 am Saturday Sioux City Police, Woodbury County Sheriff's Office, Iowa State Patrol and US Marshall's arrested Deshawn Gleaton at the Morning Hills Apartments in Sioux City's Morningside Neighborhood.

Norfolk Police responded about 6:45 am Friday to the 1100 block of Blaine in Norfolk for a report of a shooting.

The suspect 28-year-old Deshawn Gleaton fled the area in a 2007 Gray Buick LaCross before police arrived. Numerous agencies assisted in the investigation and search of the suspect. The victim was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The victim later died as a result of her injuries.

Gleaton's vehicle was located at about 9:00 am in Jackson Nebraska. Law Enforcement interviewed witnesses and determined he parked the vehicle and walked away from it. They were lead to Jackson by phone pings. Another ping a short time later for Gleaton was on Sioux City’s Westside.

As of 2:00 pm, Friday Gleaton has still not been found. He is described as a black male, 6 ft 8 inches tall weighing 240 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. If you have information about his whereabouts you’re asked to call 911, he is considered armed and dangerous.
