Infant dies at North Sioux City mobile home Monday DCI Investigating

I spoke with North Sioux City Police chief on Wednesday. He stated he is unaware of any wrongdoing at the current time and that DCI is handling the investigation. DCI says they will not comment on an active investigation.

About 11:00 am Monday North Sioux Police and Fire Rescue responded to a Mobile Home Park at 416 Lakeshore Drive for reports of an infant of about 5 weeks old not breathing.

I began receiving information in the late afternoon that North Sioux City Police had called in South Dakota Department of Criminal Investigation. I've left messages with North Sioux City Police for comment. It appeared that the South Dakota Department of Criminal Investigation was on scene collecting evidence late into the evening. North Sioux City Police Command Staff were also on duty, which is uncommon on weekends and holidays. rnrn
