Plymouth County deputy terminated earlier this year now formally charged with multiple felonies

Earlier this year I told you about an investigation that lead to the termination of former Plymouth County Deputy Aaron Leusink. After five months further information have been released as well as formal charges and arrest have been made.

Plymouth County Sheriff's Office says that on April 16th, 2020 they were conducting an internal review of internal records became aware of potential criminal acts that involved Deputy Aaron Leusink. Sheriff VanOtterloo at that time requested the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation investigate and handle the review. Leusink was terminated from the Sherrif's Office on April 23rd, 2020.


On September 24th, 2020 formal charges of Burglary 1st, Burglary 2nd, Burglary 3rd, Felonious Acts, Unlawful Possession of Prescription Medication, Theft 4th, and Theft 5th have been filed against Leusink who has been arrested and bail set at $30,000
