Body believed to be the missing Sioux City male from Wednesday located in Missour River

About 1:30 pm Friday reports were received that something was floating in the Missouri River just south of the train bridge. Dakota City Fire Rescue located the body believed to be the missing male on the river across from the water treatment plant. Sioux City Fire Rescue met them and the body was transported to the Morgue.

Police believe they know who they are looking for as articles of clothing and a cell phone were located on the bridge when they initially responded to the call.

Just about 7:00 pm Wednesday Woodbury County Communications, as well as Dakota County Communications, received 911 calls reporting that a person either jumped or fell from the Veterans Memorial Bridge.

Sioux City Police, Sioux City Fire, South Sioux City Police, South Sioux City Fire, Woodbury County Sherrif's Office and Sergeant Bluff Police all went to the riverfront to speak to witnesses and see if they could locate anyone in the water.

Crews from Home and Dakota City remain on the water and along the riverbank searching for any signs that a person may have gone into the water.
