Deputies search for suspect in erratic driving complaint that ended in crash near Salix

Larry Robertson Jr was arrested early Sunday morning in the area of the 1500 block of 275th Street near Salix. Charged with 2 counts of Robbery 2nd, Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident, and Reckless Driving. He's being held in Woodbury County Jail on $50,000 Bond.

About 7:45 pm Friday Sioux City Police received calls about an erratic driver, including calls from the driver themselves. Police were unable to locate the driver.

About 8:20 pm the calls began again, this time near Sloan on Interstate 29. The calls reported reckless driving, hit, and runs and ended with a head-on-collision near Salix on Interstate 29.

The driver of a Gray Yukon, described as a black male with dreads, hit another SUV head-on and then fled the crash into the cornfield. Others reported minor crashes from this driver as well as assaults after the head-on-crash before Law Enforcement arrived.

Woodbury County Deputies, Sergeant Bluff Police, Sioux City Police, and Iowa State Patrol searched the area for a couple of hours and were unable to locate the suspect.
