Homeowners found smoke after hearing crackling coming from their attic

Sioux City Fire responded to 5120 Lorraine Ave just after 5:00 am Tuesday after the homeowner reported smoke in their attic.

Apon arrival smoke was reported coming from the eves. Firefighters were able to locate and quickly extinguish the fire before it caused major damage to the home.

Fire Captain Dustin Johnson said the home had working smoke detectors, there were no injuries reported the two occupants made it out safely and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
