Police say that a man has died as a result of injuries he sustained after an assault that took place on July 29th just after 2:00am on 4th Street in Sioux City

31-year-old Peter L. Johnson was transported to the hospital by Sioux City EMS after the incident took place. He has since died as a result of the injuries sustained. Police are not providing any more information about the incident at this time.

Police put out a request for information or videos from anyone that may have them. They say they received information which allowed them to move forward on the case and expect to file charges in the future.

Police say they were called to the 1100 Block of 4th Street at 2:08 am on Sunday Morning July 29th for a disturbance where someone was assaulted.

Police received video footage of the assault where it appears others were taking cell phone video. Police are asking for anyone with information about the assault or that have video footage of it to contact them immediately.

Police and EMS responded to 1107 4th Street in front of Rebos for a 33-year-old male that had been assaulted. EMS transported the victim to the hospital.
